Higgins & Associates, Ms. Higgins’, experience includes work as an attorney for Bracewell & Patterson, Tax Counsel for Exxon Corporation, Chief of Staff and General Counsel for United States Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and Associate General Counsel, Vice President, and Assistant Corporate Secretary for J.P. Morgan Chase; Partner & Chief Diversity Officer for Thompson & Knight LLP; Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary and Chief Administrative Officer for Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Houston, Texas; Partner & Chief Diversity officer for Lam, Lyn & Philip, P.C., including General Corporate, Corporate Trustee's Counsel, Breach of Contract, Structure Finance & Asset-Backed Securities, Commercial Litigation, and Breach of Contract and Creditor's Rights.

As a corporate executive, attorney, and civic leader, Ms. Higgins has devoted her career to mentoring and creating opportunities for women and minority lawyers.
Ms. Higgins is known for her work with the Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession Program ("MOLP") and has been locally and nationally featured and recognized for her indelible, creative, and restructuring work with MOLP for the Houston Bar Association where she serves numerous years as Chair, member, and mentor. Additionally, Ms. Higgins served as President of the Association of Law Firm Diversity Professionals, the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors, the State Bar of Texas Diversity Task Force, and Texas Minority Counsel Program’s Steering Committee and Racial Diversity In the Profession of The State Bar of Texas. She has been recognized by The Texas Lawyer as one of the Best 50 In-House Counsel, Texas Lawyer’s Extraordinary Women in the Law, the Sarah T. Hughes Award from the State Bar of Texas’, the Texas Executive Women On the Move Award, and the Minority Corporate Counsel Association Rainbowmaker Award, and Ms. Higgins, among other awards and recognitions, has been inducted into the American Law Institute.
